As a soloist and chamber musician, Tomoko Katsura has appeared throughout the US, Japan, and Europe. Her most recent engagements in Japan include a solo appearance with the Tokyo Philharmonic under Yoichiro Omachi and a national radio broadcast for the NHK FM Recital Series.
The Japanese violinist started her studies at the age of five. She moved to the US in 1986, and made her solo debut with the New York Symphonic Ensemble three years later. Ms. Katsura holds the Bachelor and Masters degrees of Music from The Juilliard School where she studied with Masao Kawasaki, Dorothy DeLay, and Harvey Shapiro. She resides in Amsterdam, where she has been a member of Nederlands Kamerorkest since February 2005.
