As well as being Knight, cellist Jane Cords-O'Hara is also a member of North Sky Cello Ensemble, SONYC and the Caravel Trio. Originally from Ireland, she moved to New York in 2002 to study with Timothy Eddy at Mannes College of Music.
In recent seasons, she has performed with many groups including Da Capo Chamber Players, Iris Orchestra, Argento and Walden School Players. She has performed all over the US, as well as in Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
In 2004, she was selected to participate in a Carnegie Hall Workshop with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble. It was here that she met Colin Jacobsen who subsequently asked her to join The Knights. Some personal highlights from the last eight years with The Knights include the 2007 trip to Ireland and the tour to the Canary Islands in 2009.
Jane met her husband Dan Cords, a jazz sax player and composer, at one of Colin and Eric's New Year’s Eve parties.... They now live in Brooklyn with their daughter, Aoife.
